Softball Recap: Chadron Cardinals vs. Alliance Bulldogs
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chadron). They blew past the Alliance Bulldogs 18-6 on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won ten games by eight runs or more so far this season.
Addisyn Gruver was a standout: she scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. What's more, she also racked up three hits, the mostshe's had in her last 11 matches. Brylee Huffman was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Chadron was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Alliance only posted a batting average of .250.
The victory made it two in a row for Chadron and bumps their season record up to 13-14. As for Alliance, their loss dropped their record down to 9-23.
Chadron has already played their next contest, a 15-13 defeat against Bayard on the 7th. As for Alliance, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 19-16 win against Chase County on the 5th.
