Softball Recap: Clearfield Takes a Loss

If Clearfield was feeling good fresh off their 16-0 takedown of Bishop Carroll last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bison fell just short of the St. Marys Flying Dutch by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Bison in their meetings with the Flying Dutch: they've now lost five in a row.

Clearfield saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eve Siegel, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Clearfield's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for St. Marys, their victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clearfield will venture away from home to face off against Bellwood-Antis at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Marys, they will square off against Elk County Catholic at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
