Softball Recap: Rector Snags Third Victory in Last Four Games

Rector barely beat Corning the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cougars' pitchers stepped up to hand the Bobcats a 16-0 shutout on Thursday. Considering the Cougars have won five contests by more than 11 runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Rector has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 14.7 runs. As for Corning, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Rector will square off against rival Cross County at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Corning is set to take on their familiar foe Buffalo Island Central at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
