Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Colbert Heights

Colbert Heights waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Covenant Christian Eagles get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won 12 games by eight runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on McKenzie Gann, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Autumn Willis was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Colbert Heights pushed their record up to 23-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Covenant Christian, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-14.

Coincidentally, Colbert Heights and Covenant Christian will both be playing Cherokee the next time they take the field. The Wildcats will host the Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, while the Eagles will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
