Basketball Game Preview: Santa Rosa Panthers vs. Dougherty Valley Wildcats

Having just played yesterday, the Santa Rosa Panthers will jump right back in to play the Dougherty Valley Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.

It was a proper cat-fight when Santa Rosa took on Cardinal Newman on Friday. Santa Rosa lost to Cardinal Newman on the road by a 44-29 margin. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Dougherty Valley beat De La Salle 59-48 on Friday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Wildcats' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 69th, while the Spartans are ranked tenth).

Santa Rosa's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Dougherty Valley, their win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-6.
