Volleyball Game Preview: Dixie Flyers vs. Crimson Cliffs Mustangs

Dixie hasn't had much luck against Crimson Cliffs recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Dixie will take on Crimson Cliffs at 7:00 p.m.

Dixie is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Thursday. They fell 3-1 to Cedar.

Dixie started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 26-24, 25-19, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Crimson Cliffs was able to grind out a solid win over Snow Canyon on Thursday, taking the game 3-1. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won five in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 15-25, 25-16, 25-19.

Dixie better focus on containing Colsen Neal and Xander Vernon as the pair were huge in Crimson Cliffs' win. Neal had 18 digs and one assist, while Vernon had 13 kills, four digs, and four aces. Neal has been hot for a while, having posted 12 or more digs the last 11 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Nathan Dana, who had 16 assists and seven digs.

Crimson Cliffs' record is now 9-4. As for Dixie, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.

Dixie suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Crimson Cliffs in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Dixie avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
