Softball Game Preview: Kennett Blue Demons vs. Coatesville Red Raiders

The Kennett Blue Demons will challenge the Coatesville Red Raiders at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Kennett made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Henderson, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Kennett put the hurt on Henderson with a sharp 18-6 victory on Wednesday.

Daiylia Winter was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with six RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Hailey Kahrs was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.

Meanwhile, Coatesville put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against East as Coatesville made off with a 9-1 win. While the Red Raiders didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Gracelynn Landis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up seven Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game.

At the plate, Jillian Wimmer was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Allison Burke, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Coatesville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East only posted a batting average of .167.

Coatesville's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Kennett, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
