Basketball Recap: North Stokes Takes a Loss

North Stokes won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Wednesday. They came up short against the Starmount Rams, falling 45-25. The Vikings were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-15.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Starmount to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carley Money, who went 6 of 12 en route to 17 points. What's more, Money also racked up two assists, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Molly Swaim was another key player, going 5 for 12 on her way to 15 points.

North Stokes' defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 11-2. As for Starmount, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-5.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing South Stokes the next time they take the court. Starmount will host South Stokes at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while North Stokes will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
