Softball Recap: Boyne City Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Boyne City was handed a 20-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Cheboygan Chiefs 3-1. For the Ramblers, this counts as revenge for the 7-4 win the Chiefs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Boyne City's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Lexi Katz, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that Katz has snagged this season.

Boyne City's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-13. As for Cheboygan, their loss was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-10.

Coming up, Boyne City will venture away from home to square off against Harbor Springs at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cheboygan, they will welcome Charlevoix at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Chiefs are facing the Rayders at the right time seeing as the Rayders are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
