While West Philadelphia didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 61-48 victory over the William Penn Colonials on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Speedboys.

West Philadelphia was led to victory by Makel Butts and Xavier Howard. Butts posted 18 points, while Howard earned 17 points. Another player making a difference was Brandon Williams, who put up ten points.

West Philadelphia's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for William Penn, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 0-2.

West Philadelphia will welcome Science Leadership Academy at Beeber at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for William Penn, they will venture away from home to square off against St. Andrew's at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
