The Bedford Bisons will head out on the road to face off against the Bellwood-Antis Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Bedford is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.1 runs per game this season.
Bedford will bounce into Friday's game after beating Bishop McCort, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Bisons blew past the Crushers 16-4 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bisons.
Emma Byers made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Bailey Mickle was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylee Lybarger, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.
Bedford was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Bellwood-Antis beat Penns Valley Area 5-2 on Tuesday.
Palynn Gregg spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on two hits and racked up seven Ks. Those hits were her first of the season.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Parker Martin, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. London McKee also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Bedford now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Bellwood-Antis, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
Bellwood-Antis' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Bedford hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .350. It's a different story for Bellwood-Antis, though, as they've only averaged .223. Will they be able to contain Bedford's hitters?
Bedford took their win against Bellwood-Antis when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 15-4 score. Will the Bisons repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
