Game recap: North Valley holds off Douglas

North Valley (Grants Pass, Ore.)'s advantage, which at one point stood at 14 points, dwindled to six before the final whistle blew on a 34-28 victory over Douglas (Winston, Ore.).

After taking the lead on a passing touchdown in the second quarter, the Knights led 24-13 at the half.

North Valley saw its 11-point halftime lead fall to seven entering the fourth.

The Trojans' Jordan Shaffer was the standout player for his team. The junior quarterback threw one touchdown and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored three touchdowns on the season.

JJ Chirnside was the top performer for NV. The senior wide receiver kicked one field goal. He has now scored one touchdowns on the season.



The Grants Pass school got revenge for last year's 42-28 loss to Douglas with the victory.

With the win the Knights extended their winning streak to three games.

In a non-conference game next week North Valley (3-0) takes on Douglas, and Douglas (1-2) will go up against Hidden Valley also in a non-conference game.
