Recap: Munford Lions vs. Central of Clay County Volunteers
Sadly, the Munford Lions are still looking for their first win of the season after 13 contests. They had to suffer through a rough 64-17 loss at the hands of Central of Clay County. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Munford in their matchups with Central of Clay County: they've now lost nine in a row.
Central of Clay County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Nariah Brock out in front who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaqueria Zackery, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Munford's loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Central of Clay County, their win bumped their record up to 20-5.
Munford will look to defend their home court on Friday against Cleburne County at 6:00 p.m. Munford comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 17 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Central of Clay County, they will head out on the road to take on Saks at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Central of Clay County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday.
