Baseball Recap: Los Altos Now 11-3 over Last 14 Games

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Los Altos and Homestead meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Eagles blew past the Mustangs 6-0. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 11 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Homestead's batters probably weren't too happy with Sly Cash, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 11 Ks (he gave up a single walk).

At the plate, Quinn Chiochios was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Kai MacQuiddy, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Los Altos was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.

Los Altos has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games. As for Homestead, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 11-15.

Los Altos will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Mustangs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
