Basketball Game Preview: North Johnston Panthers vs. Raleigh Charter Phoenix

The North Johnston Panthers will be taking part in a tournament against the Raleigh Charter Phoenix at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

North Johnston is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Southeast Raleigh on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. North Johnston was outmatched by Southeast Raleigh and fell 85-21. The match marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Raleigh Charter had to endure a six-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Triangle Math & Science 58-55. The Phoenix's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Raleigh Charter's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for North Johnston, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.
