Football Recap: Palmyra Cougars vs. Lower Dauphin Falcons

Palmyra had lost seven straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-5 to make it eight. They had to suffer through a 41-7 loss at the hands of the Lower Dauphin Falcons. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 44-0 to the Falcons when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Lower Dauphin, they now have a winning record of 4-3. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Lower Dauphin had a senior duo take command as Hunter Strohm rushed for 75 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten carries and Ethan Tanner rushed for 101 yards and one score on only nine carries. Strohm also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Falcons are undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 0-3 otherwise. Nick Hengst got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Palmyra will take on rival Gettysburg at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Lower Dauphin is set to challenge their familiar foe Mifflin County at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
