Soccer Game Preview: Mary Persons vs. Luella

The Mary Persons Bulldogs are taking a road trip to take on the Luella Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mary Persons will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Mary Persons played against Troup County on Thursday and won via forfeit.

Luella is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Upson-Lee just ended the team's eight-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 1-0. Having soared to a lofty ten goals in the game before, Luella's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Luella's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Mary Persons, their win bumped their record up to 4-10.

Mary Persons took their victory against Luella when the teams last played back in March of 2021 by a conclusive 5-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mary Persons since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
