The Weston Ranch Cougars waltzed into their contest Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 78-70 win over Boulder Creek. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Weston Ranch had a senior duo take command as Mateen Rafiq scored 25 points and Richard Banks scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and six assists. The contest was Rafiq's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Izaias White, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds.
Weston Ranch's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Boulder Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.
