After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Nichols, Mount St. Mary Academy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Mount Mercy Academy Magic 3-1. The Thunder haven't had any issues with the Magic recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Claire Gaulin, who went 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season. Molly Reynolds was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Mount St. Mary Academy lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Mount St. Mary Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Mount Mercy Academy, they dropped their record down to 5-7 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.
