Elite Prep Academy had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They snuck past the Calvary City Christian Academy Lions with a 46-40 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row dating back to last season.

Elite Prep Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Geramel Castillo out in front who posted 19 points in addition to five assists and five boards. The dominant performance also gave Castillo a new career-high in steals (five). Ernie Torres was another key player, putting up eight points along with ten rebounds and three steals.

Calvary City Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Elite Prep Academy and Calvary City Christian Academy will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Eagles see the court they'll take on Lake Mary Prep at 7:00 p.m. on January 16, 2026. As for Calvary City Christian Academy, their break will end when they face Champions Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on December 4.
