Basketball Game Preview: Bonny Eagle Scots vs. Thornton Academy Trojans

Bonny Eagle hasn't had much luck against Thornton Academy recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Bonny Eagle Scots will take on the Thornton Academy Trojans at 7:45 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Bonny Eagle comes in on four and Thornton Academy on 11.

Bonny Eagle is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They snuck past Sanford with a 64-59 win.

Meanwhile, Thornton Academy earned a 65-54 victory over Biddeford last Friday. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Tigers are ranked 62nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bonny Eagle's win bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Thornton Academy, they pushed their record up to 17-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home.

Bonny Eagle came up short against Thornton Academy in their previous meeting back in January, falling 59-48. Can Bonny Eagle avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
