Basketball Recap: Effingham Comes Up Short

Effingham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 73-37 loss at the hands of the Mahomet-Seymour Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Hearts can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 457th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 219th).

Effingham's defeat dropped their record down to 6-21. As for Mahomet-Seymour, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-11.

Looking ahead, Effingham will welcome Charleston at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mahomet-Seymour, they will head out to challenge Urbana at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
