Staunton is a perfect 10-0 against Gillespie since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Miners at 5:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

Staunton proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by nine) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They beat Carlinville by a goal, winning 2-1. Staunton wouldn't have won without Kaliana Buehler, who scored the game-winner.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gillespie). Their defense stepped up to hand North Mac a 13-0 shutout on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Gillespie's win bumped their record up to 5-7-2. As for Staunton, their victory bumped their record up to 13-1.

Everything went Staunton's way against Gillespie when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Staunton made off with an 8-0 win. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Miners turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
