Basketball Recap: San Benito's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Two

If Roma wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played San Benito, they should've done a better job of containing Kalista Olivares. The San Benito Greyhounds simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Roma Gladiators 56-18 thanks in part to Olivares, who went 6 for 11 on her way to 15 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals.

The win made it two in a row for San Benito and bumps their season record up to 15-7. As for Roma, they dropped their record down to 8-10 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

San Benito didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 46-29 defeat against Weslaco on the 10th. As for Roma, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 47-23 victory against Juarez-Lincoln on the 10th.
