Preview: Saugatuck Trailblazers vs. Saranac Redhawks
The Saugatuck Trailblazers will be playing at home against the Saranac Redhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Last Friday, Saugatuck suffered a tough 41-21 defeat at the hands of Schoolcraft. Saugatuck was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-0.
Despite the loss, Saugatuck got a solid performance out of Cass Stanberry, who rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Stanberry really tore up the turf during one magnificent 74-yard run.
Saranac can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They claimed a resounding 53-8 victory over Kelloggsville at home. The result was nothing new for Saranac, who have now won three games by 34 points or more so far this season.
This is the second loss in a row for Saugatuck and nudges their season record down to 7-2. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-1 Lawton (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 83.3% over those games). As for Saranac, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
