After a string of three wins, New Athens's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 79-75 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Altamont Indians. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (66), the Yellow Jackets still had to take the loss.

Altamont's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kade Milleville led the charge by going 11 for 16 on his way to 30 points and eight rebounds. The matchup was Milleville's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Benjamin Roedl, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 14 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists.

New Athens' defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Altamont, they moved to 4-5 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

New Athens didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-58 victory against Red Bud on the 27th. Altamont has also already played their next game, a 66-47 loss against Goreville on the 27th.
