Basketball Recap: Lariah Spencer's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Central over Northridge

Central lost against Northridge back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Central Falcons took a 42-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Northridge Jaguars. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 168th, while the Jaguars are ranked 47th).

Central's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lariah Spencer, who posted 12 points in addition to six boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Michal Steward, who had seven points and five rebounds.

Central moved to 14-9 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Northridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.

Central has already played their next match (against McAdory), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Northridge has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Brookwood.
