Baseball Recap: Reavis' Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Reavis waltzed into their contest on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They put the hurt on the Argo Argonauts with a sharp 14-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won 14 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Tino Villagomez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Villagomez was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Parker Zasada was a standout: he got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Juan Avila was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

Reavis was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .478. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in five consecutive matchups.

Reavis' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-9. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Argo, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-17 record this season.

Reavis will have a chance to go back-to-back against Argo: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
