Baseball Recap: Perry Has No Trouble Against Bentley

Perry came out on top against Bentley on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run second inning. The Ramblers blew past the Bulldogs 10-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-7 on Tuesday.

Wyatt Patrick made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He is becoming a predictor of Perry's success: when he allows at most two hits the team is 2-1 (and 3-22 when he doesn't). Patrick was also big at the plate, getting on base in both of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brady Doerner, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and two RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Nolan Krupp was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Perry was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory made it two in a row for Perry and bumps their season record up to 5-23. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Bentley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-10.

Coming up, Perry will square off against Bath at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Bentley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
