Basketball Game Preview: Mathews Mustangs vs. Bristol Panthers

Mathews and Bristol are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Mathews Mustangs will be playing at home against the Bristol Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, Mathews escaped with a win against Chalker by the margin of a single free throw, 43-42. The 43-point effort marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bristol). They blew past Maplewood, posting an 87-57 victory. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 20 points or more this season.

Bristol is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Mathews, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2.
