Baseball Recap: Juan Diego Catholic Starts Season with Victory at Home

Juan Diego Catholic gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Ogden Tigers a 10-0 shutout. The win continues a trend for the Soaring Eagle in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won nine in a row.

The team relied heavily on Eamonn Dolan, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in doubles. Nick Richardson was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.

Juan Diego Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ogden only posted an OBP of .059.

Looking ahead, Juan Diego Catholic will head out on the road to face off against Bountiful at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ogden, they will face off against Juab at 8:00 a.m. on Friday. Ogden has now lost nine straight dating back to last season, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 1.
