Basketball Recap: Galva Takes a Loss

Galva lost against Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Galva Wildcats were outmatched by the Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] Spartans and fell 55-25. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 487th, while the Spartans are ranked 238th).

Galva has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge], their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-4.

Galva will take on Peoria Heights in a holiday battle at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday at. As for Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge], they will challenge Biggsville West Central at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
