Baseball Recap: Trotwood-Madison Comes Up Short

Trotwood-Madison extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping their season record down to 1-8 in the process. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 18-16 heartbreaker at the hands of the Meadowdale Lions. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Rams have suffered since April 24, 2024.

Tyree Payne was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Khalil Casey was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

As for Meadowdale, their win bumped their record up to 3-4. The high-scoring effort was just what they needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

On Meadowdale's side, Kingston Tyler was incredible, going 1-for-3 with six stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Myron Banks, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

Looking ahead, Trotwood-Madison will welcome Springfield at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Meadowdale, they will face off against Thurgood Marshall at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
