Recap: Southeastern Panthers vs. Peebles Indians

The Southeastern Panthers have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 46-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Peebles on Saturday. Southeastern has not had much luck with Peebles recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

It was another big night for Payton Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 17 rebounds for Peebles. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Johnson has scored at least a third of Peebles' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Angel Gray, who scored five points along with three steals.

Southeastern has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-5 record this season. As for Peebles, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Southeastern will head out on the road to face off against Piketon at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Piketon and Southeastern are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Peebles, they will be playing at home against Eastern at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Eastern will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 453rd, while Peebles is ranked 132nd).
