Volleyball Recap: Concord-Carlisle Find Success

While Concord-Carlisle's win against Burlington wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Patriots won by a set and slipped past the Red Devils 3-2. The victory was some much needed relief for the Patriots as it spelled an end to their three-match losing streak.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Concord-Carlisle who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 23-25, 25-22, 20-25, 17-15.

Burlington's loss on Tuesday came despite strong showings from Lexie Carmody and Eesha Vishnumalakala. Carmody had 16 digs, while Vishnumalakala had six aces. Carmody is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last three games she's played. Ula Rinkeviciute also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Concord-Carlisle now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Burlington, their defeat ended an 11-match streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Concord-Carlisle will welcome Wayland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Burlington, they will host Belmont at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
