Basketball Game Preview: Pilot Point Bearcats vs. Boyd Yellowjackets

Pilot Point is on a 13-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, Boyd a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Friday. The Pilot Point Bearcats will host the Boyd Yellowjackets at 4:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Pilot Point challenged Ponder on Friday. Pilot Point took a blow against Ponder, falling 67-16. While losing is never fun, the Bearcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1300th, while the Lions are ranked 174th).

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 83-30, which was the final score in Boyd's tilt against Ponder on Tuesday.

Pilot Point's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Boyd, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.

Pilot Point might still be hurting after the 52-32 defeat they got from Boyd in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Can Pilot Point avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
