Volleyball Recap: Santa Fe Demons vs. Rio Rancho Rams

Santa Fe had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They skirted past the Rio Rancho Rams 3-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Demons also won the last time the pair played back in September.

Santa Fe had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 22-25, 25-11, 25-20, 15-11.

Aleena Hubbard paced Santa Fe's offense, picking up 19 kills. Hubbard got some help from Nicole Sallee and her 35 assists. Sallee was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Despite the loss, Rio Rancho still got an impressive performance from Cienega Richards, who had 11 digs and two aces. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Nevarez, who had nine digs and two aces.
