Soccer Game Preview: Copperas Cove vs. Gatesville

The Copperas Cove Bulldawgs are taking a road trip to take on the Gatesville Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Copperas Cove is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

Copperas Cove's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Hillsboro by a score of 2-0. While the Bulldawgs didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-18-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Jaceton Fisher was the driving force of Copperas Cove's attack as he scored both of Copperas Cove's goals, bringing his season total up to three goals.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Gatesville, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Burnet last Tuesday.

Gatesville now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Copperas Cove, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.

Copperas Cove might still be hurting after the 4-0 loss they got from Gatesville when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Copperas Cove avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
