Soccer Game Preview: Soquel vs. Carmel

The Soquel Knights will take on the Carmel Padres in a holiday battle at at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Soquel fell victim to Pioneer and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Mustangs an easy 6-0 victory. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Carmel brought some dynamite into their most recent game. Their defense stepped up to hand Marina an 11-0 shutout on Tuesday. Considering the Padres' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Soquel now has a losing record at 1-2-1. As for Carmel, the win got them back to even at 2-2-1.

Soquel beat Carmel by a goal in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 1-0. Does Soquel have another victory up their sleeve, or will Carmel turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
