Softball Recap: Rivercrest Takes a Loss

Rivercrest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Searcy Lions. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Colts of the 2-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Taylor Routledge made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Emme Weldon, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4.

Rivercrest's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Searcy, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. It'll be an old-fashioned rodeo when Rivercrest Colts take on Hoxie Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give Rivercrest their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season. As for Searcy, they are taking a road trip to face off against Lonoke at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
