Baseball Recap: Cane Bay Takes a Loss

Cane Bay was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Summerville Green Wave. If the Cobras were looking for revenge after losing 12-2 to the Green Wave when the teams met back in March of 2021, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Ethan Dodson was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Niko Alvarez, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Cane Bay's loss dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Summerville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-8.

While Cane Bay had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
