Lewis Cass won the last time they faced Northwestern and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Kings skirted past the Tigers 4-3. That's two games straight that the Kings have won by just one run.

Ruth (Amma) Fitzhugh spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lewis Cass' victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Maddie Lynch, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Lewis Cass has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Northwestern, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-4 record.

Lewis Cass has already played their next matchup, an 8-7 victory against Whitko on the 29th. As for Northwestern, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 13-7 win against Southwood on the 29th.
