The Meadville Bulldogs will square off against the General McLane Lancers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Meadville took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They came out on top against Titusville by a score of 10-7.

Lila Kightlinger made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up six earned (and one unearned) runs off 11 hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. That stolen base was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Teagan Reichel and Addyson Kregel did most of the damage at the plate: Reichel went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles, while Kregel went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most doubles Reichel has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Mealy, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and two doubles.
Meanwhile, General McLane hadn't done well against North East recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Lancers were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Grape Pickers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lancers.
Makayla Rapela was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Avery Lorah was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
General McLane was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North East only posted a batting average of .241.
Meadville pushed their record up to 7-10 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for General McLane, their win bumped their record up to 5-12-1.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Meadville hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .344. However, it's not like General McLane struggles in that department as they've averaged .346. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Meadville's way against General McLane in their previous meeting back in April, as Meadville made off with a 12-3 victory. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lancers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
