Basketball Recap: Briarcliff Takes a Loss

Briarcliff was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 53-48 heartbreaker at the hands of the Westlake Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 354th, while the Wildcats are ranked 150th).

Briarcliff now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Westlake, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Briarcliff will welcome Rye Neck at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Westlake, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Valhalla at 7:00 p.m.
