Baseball Recap: Princeton Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Victory

Princeton had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They walked away with a 7-3 win over the Evansville Christian Eagles. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Jaron Clutter was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryne Wilhite, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Princeton's victory bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Evansville Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Princeton will venture away from home to challenge Evansville Memorial at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Evansville Memorial's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Princeton's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Evansville Christian, they will take on North Posey at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season.
