Recap: Buckeye Hawks vs. Eastmark Firebirds
The Buckeye Hawks and the Eastmark Firebirds squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but sadly the Buckeye Hawks had to settle for second. Buckeye was beaten by Eastmark 48-14. Buckeye was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.
Zachary Bennett threw for 79 yards on 13 of 26 attempts. Darius Haskin was his top target, picking up 66 receiving yards.
Coleman Samples was on fire for Eastmark: he rushed for 159 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. Jared Hinton also helped out as he racked up 105 rushing yards.
Buckeye's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Eastmark, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.
Buckeye does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Eastmark will head out on the road to face off against Yuma Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Yuma Catholic is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
