Preview: Charleston Tigers vs. Union Yellowjackets
The Charleston Tigers will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Union Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on November 24th. Charleston knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven contests -- so hopefully Union likes a good challenge.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Charleston walked away with it. They blew past the Lions, posting a 50-18 victory on the road. Charleston might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won eight contests by 26 points or more this season.
Charleston found their leader in underclassman Marcus Flowers jr, who rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Quentin Carter was another key contributor, rushing for 85 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Union waltzed into Friday's game with five straight wins but they left with six. They came out on top against Calhoun City by a score of 34-26. Union's victory was all the more impressive since Calhoun City was averaging only 10.08 points allowed on the season.
Their wins bumped Charleston to 11-2 and Hamilton to 7-6.
