Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Marist walked away with it. They won by a set and slipped past the Astoria Fishermen 3-2. The win was familiar territory for the Spartans, who have now won 22 contests in a row.

Marist took Astoria into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-7, 25-27, 21-25, 15-9.

Marist's victory bumped their record up to 23-1. As for Astoria, their defeat ended a five-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-7.

As of now, neither Marist nor the Fishermen have any future games scheduled.
