Volleyball Recap: St. Mary's Ryken Knights vs. The Academy of the Holy Cross Tartans
St. Mary's Ryken was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to The Academy of the Holy Cross Tartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.
The final score came out to 25-13, 25-13, 25-9.
The Academy of the Holy Cross found their leader in sophomore Trinity Rowles, who had ten assists and eight aces. Those eight aces set a new season-high mark for Rowles.
St. Mary's Ryken's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for The Academy of the Holy Cross, the win keeps them at an undefeated 18-0.
Coming up, St. Mary's Ryken will take on Bishop McNamara at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for The Academy of the Holy Cross, they will square off against School Without Walls at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
