Basketball Recap: Southwestern Heights Takes a Loss

After flying high against Yarbrough/Felt last Friday, Southwestern Heights came back down to earth. The Southwestern Heights Mustangs fell just short of the Sweetwater Bulldogs by a score of 46-43 on Saturday. The loss was the Mustangs' first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Southwestern Heights fell to 3-1. As for Sweetwater, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 3-5 record this season.

Southwestern Heights will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Spearville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Spearville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Southwestern Heights likes a good challenge. As for Sweetwater, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Sentinel at 8:00 p.m. on January 14, 2025.
